How do you all store your microphones?

Thanks for all the ideas, guys. Now I've got some ideas bubbling around in my head and now I've gotta figure out what works best for me.

What else should I add to this track?

This definitely is Nirvana inspired. I'd just started getting into them at the time I wrote this. I figured that with Grunge you just throw together whatever chords don't normally go together and sing gravely and agonized. lol. It worked. And it really translates the feeling I wanted. But...

How do you all store your microphones?

Here's an interesting question: how do you all store your microphones? I've got about 12 mics and they're kinda stored a little bit haphazardly, in different cases and boxes, most of them stuffed into a large tote bag. All in their own boxes and safe from damage, of course, but it's not very...

What else should I add to this track?

Yeah, I have both a DAW and several interfaces. (I'm using an Audiobox USB by Presonus for both the vocal and guitar tracks here.) I have a drum and kit and just have to wait till I can go use one of the practice spaces at the local college's music building, because I live in a trailer park and...

What else should I add to this track?

Hey, guys! I'm currently working on a new song, but I'm just not sure what else to add. I've got electric (rhythm) guitar and vocal tracks down, but I'm not sure what to add from here. Of course drums. And probably bass. But I don't play bass, and I don't have the opportunity to record drums...

Wow. It's good to be back!

Hey, everyone! most of you probably don't remember me. I literally have no idea who's still around from when I was last here. I just looked at my profile and my last activity was from 2016. So yeah, its been awhile. That was about the time I was last working seriously on any music projects as...

    Advice on new mix

Yeah, get rid of the back and forth panning. Maybe drop the vocals back just a touch. And I mean A TOUCH. Both of you did an excellent job. Very nice.

    *that* hihat sound.

And whoa! I was just kinda letting the song play in the background, not paying much attention to it. I just got five and a half minutes through the song and there were lyrics all of sudden!!!? Where was the vox through the rest of the song? lol

    *that* hihat sound.

Depends, really. I mean, if you're playing jazz, the hi-hat is an extremely complex instrument, played with a high level of fines and skill. If you're playing drums for a heavy metal band on the other hand, any old cymbals slapped together on the stand will do. Heck, you don't even need your...

    Song Structuring..

Absolutely. To fix this, if I play a set, I make sure I mix the songs up, chronologically.

How can I make this better? Any suggestion?

Pretty much what mjb said, but I think you should just redo the electric rhythm guitar as it has way too much treble and not nearly enough bass or mids. But all in all, it's a very nice song and mixing job. I like the vocals, too. Good work.

    Free Acoustic Guitar Soundfont

Our Mods are the best! They just have to be a tad bit proactive at times because we can get out of hand. ;) I'll just take this opportunity to say thanks to them because I have come to the shameful realization that I never have. So thanks! :D

Looking for Metal guitar Player To Record Tacks and Make Albulm

I can play some rhythm, though, I'm more into alternative metal than I am the spot heavy stuff. Do you have any demo tracks?

    Original Song (I'm Depressed)

Yeah, the song is a couple steps too low for your voice. But other than that, it sounds fine.

1955 Les Paul Goldtop for Sale. $$$$

Personally, I wouldn't shell out more than 500 bucks for a guitar. All I care about is sound quality, and if I can't get a satisfying sound out of something even for three hundred, I might as well give up. I can not imagine shelling out thousands of dollars for, as Greg put it, "A chunk of...

    New Song in the works.

Yes. They are fifths. Power cords played in dropped D tuning. (you know the easy kind you play with one finger? ;) ) it took me a long time to figure out exactly what chords fit, and some of them do need to be minor. You've got a dang good ear! :) and thanks for the kind words!

    New Song in the works.

So, It took me about a week to actually get this one finally worked out. This is just a demo recorded using my Windows 8.1 phone and edited a tad using a DAW app. That's why it's not posted in the mixing clinic. Let me know what you think. https://soundcloud.com/resurrectrock/sing-to-me
