just my own home studio, recording synths and outboard samplers. would also like the option to apply the outboard compressor on ITB tracks from my daw.
Hay guys,
So I'm trying to setup my compressor with my mixer but since it doesn't have inserts i'm not sure what is my best option.
1) plug it into the 3-4 Alt outputs? but then how do i sidechain?
2) plug into a send-return aux bus? but since i have only 2 send/returns kind of want to keep...
Thanks Dave, you are absolutely correct about my lack of understanding around gain staging/digital levels, and for me it certainly doesn't stop there wrg to making and recording music.

my hardware is
-nord rack
-ESQ-1
-EPS16+
-Yamaha A4000
-DP/4

Also it seems very quiet, do I need to put a compressor on it ?
With the...
Hi Guys,
So I've been working ITB with ableton for a couple years, got kind of sick of staring at a monitor and clicking a mouse as its a little too like my day job, and didnt really find it that inspiring. Plus I wanted to be able to play out/do live PAs when I get good enough.
So I went...
