When I record I want to have the smallest number of processes running. With my XP now there are 28 processes running. Does anyone have a list of what can be shut down without making the OS unstable, but faster? I had but lost an internet site which listed all the usual application file names...
Well as a newcomer I am humbled, but forever in your debt to have all of your years of knowledge to help me put togeather a recording room and equipment to record my wife for a lot less than I could have possible done with the area studios, and at the same time learn a new language of sound and...
Sennheiser MD 421
MXL 603s
FMR RNP
All have been great additions, especially the RNP, what a change in how mics sound. Can't wait to use it live as a DI.

I am having some problems with sample rate and my echo MIA.
1. Although my card supports 88.1 and 96 I cant seem to make Audition record at that rate. I am feeling really pretty stupid about this.
2. Is any able to get Audition to work with Echo PURE WAVE driver? I just cant seem to make it...
I am feeling kind of stupid, but I can't seem to find anywhere online to buy Oktava mics. Must be there but the sites I use don't have them. Any link would be appreciated.

Had the first opportunity to use the MD 421 on stage last night. Wow what a difference from the SM 58, clear and smooth what a treat. Interesting that the bass rolloff works best at M or one notch back for recording, but live it was just the opposite, it was better around th S. Great mic and so...

I was watching that auction too, but the old lady caught wind of it and shut me down :( There were a couple of other 441 auctiions at the same time and one ended with reserve not met at 220.
Guess will have to be happy with the 421 I got for 212 last month. It is sweet on...
Thought it was a good deal from 8 th Street at $199. There is a document saying " MXL 603SPR Stereo Matched Pair. These 2 microphones have been carefully matched at Marshall Electronics in El Segundo, CA".
I have been happy with them, a bit boomy on acoustic guitar at the bridge but a good deal...
I have been trolling here for awhile and just wanted to put in my $.02 for what it is worth. I bought a MD 421 U5 to record my wifes voice ( she sings celtic ballads )after reading so much about them here. But, was pleasently surprised to find out it worked great teamed with a MXL 603 at 12th...
I just read a new one to me in the Taylor Guitar Magazine where two SD condensors are aimed at the 12th fret region in parallel about 5 inches apart and 8 inches from the guitar, and then add in the pickup. Haven't tried it yet but sound interesting. It is on the Tayolr site in the Wood and...
You are going to need a pre amp of some sort to get any sound to your computer sound card. There are lots of inexpensive pre amp options out there, get a Musician Friend or American Music Supply cataloge or check them out on line.
Just had a review in latest Recording magazine. They loved it, best software for the price period. I am still learning, but sure seems like a great program.
thanks guys you are right I am being a bone head...
Need to learn how to use CEP to its full potential. Great program with short learning curve for basics, but now need to spend some time to learn the good stuff.
Have an Echo MIA which only has two outputs but still think I should be able to come out of the card into the board and back into CEP with two tracks at a time.
Is there a way to come out of CEP into my Behringer mixer and then back into CEP so I can get some smooth fades for final mix. When I tried this there was some very strange feedback type noises produced. Am I slow... I cant seem to figure out how to mix and pan final product in just CEP...
