I have a basic soundcard, with phono inputs, the audiophile 2490 i think, but im reluctant to use it because i dont really like using computers, and im worried about losing all the analogue loveliness through...

Fostex R8, with Fostex 810 mixer and alesis studio 1 speakers.
Recorded 5 tracks:
1-Accoustic guitar with Sm57
2-Same accoustic gutar, with Rode nt1
3-Different accoustic guitar with SM57
4-Above guitar with Rode NT1
5-Accoustic bass with Rode NT1

I have the option to get some NOS tape, but dont know if its right for my machine.
Its advertised as 478 "mastering tape"
is this much different from the 456 that my machine normally runs on?

Ok , following on from my other thread, Ive come to the conclusion that the speed fluctuations i was getting on playback probably are not due to:
1:Sticky shed- no residue on anything.
2: Pinch roller- got a new one
3:main drive belt- its not toothed, but the rubber looks in good condition...

1. The pinch roller
2. the drive belt
3. the motor.
