Any Profire users out there utilizing external mic preamps? I'm currious if any of the inputs to the 2626 bypass the internal preamps if/when and external mic-pre is connected.
Anyone using external mic pres with their 2626? I've sent several emails off to M-Audio and posted on their website...
Is there such a beast? I'm finding that all the new Firewire interfaces have built in mic-pres which usually cannot be bypassed. Is there an interface that has no mic pres but rather just line inputs for the guy that has plenty of external stand-alone mic pres?
I found these tracks on the web...can't recall where now but the jist of it was this person was looking for someone to mix it for him. I took a shot at it, just wish I could recall the website where I found them to give it back to him/her.
Anyways, I'm looking for some feedback on the mix if...
Hello all,
I've moved into a new home and thus a new mixing room and I'm finding that when I play my mixes in places other than my studio, it sounds too boomy...too much bass. I don't hear this when I'm mixing. I mix and tweak till it sounds good but then when I play it back on the home stereo...
I have this old AP Audio patchbay and I've lost the destructions. The channel modules have 4 1/4" connectors (2 front, 2 rear), one of the 4 connectors is grey.
Anyone with a chart or information on how normal, half-normal etc is set up on this thing?
Thanks,
punkin
I've always had a odd spot for political punk. I came across this a few days ago. I thought I would share it with those who might be interested.

I've been window shopping...Firewire surely seems the way to go these days and my PCI equipment is dated.
I've been doing a little research and currently the Focusrite Saffire PRO 26 I/O unit looks to fit in my budget and has features I'm looking for. The problem is I'm not seeing a lot of...
This is a double post...I posted in another section a couple days ago but no bites. Hoping that posting here will draw a better crowd. I have an ART TPS II that I use with keyboards once in awhile. One of the channels has suddenly dropped in level requiring that the gain be turned up quite a bit...
Hello All,
I have an ART TPS II I use as a DI for keyboards from time to time. One of the channels has recently had a major reduction in gain as compared to the other.
I'm looking for a schematic for this unit. If anyone has any leads for this I would be appreciative.
Thanks,
Hey All,
One of my DMP3 pre-amps has a burned out back light. Anyone had to replace this yet? If so, I would much appreciate a part number or spec's. Thanks!
Hope this doesn't come across as a double post. I'm in the process of rebuilding a p.c. and the updates are significant enough that I'm looking at a 64 bit capable board and cpu (intel). Hardware is pretty much picked out so now to the matter of which o.s.
Since I'm virtually building a new PC...
Well, looks like I'm shopping...

Hey all, I'm building a series of guitar effects. I'd like something really custom in the way of an enclosure. Instead of 4 seperate stomp boxes, I'd like one. What I'm really after is an non-drilled, angled footswitch pedal. Much like that which comes with many amp heads.
Ideally the panel...
Sorry if I'm in the wrong area...wasn't sure where to post this.
I frequently burn "demo" stuff to CD and listen while in the car. I usually do this in .wav but recently I accidentally encoded a bunch of tunes to MP3 while exporting from SONAR 7. When I burned the CD I used windows XP by simply...
Hey all,
My Ernie Ball volume pedal has been giving me a lot of trouble. The stupid little string that connects the pedal to the POT has given up several times and now, the potentiometer has given up as well. This thing is a pain in the ass to work with.
Bottom line,...I want something else...
Anyone tried working with this yet? V-Vocal indicates that it can take audio and convert to midi. I understand that it can be problematic for compound audio sources but in it's simplest form, I'm trying to take kick drum impulses and convert to midi for retriggering samples.
For the life of me...
Anyone recording drum sets with two kick drums and no sound holes in the front heads? My son picked up a new drum set a couple weeks ago and I'm really struggling with this. What are you using for mics and tell me about your placement.
The application for this set up is a heavier metal sound...
