I'm curious about trying out remixing a song. I think it would be fun, and help me get practice in Logic software. Where do you find suitable material for doing remixes? I.E. separated parts such as vocals, or songs broken into individual instrument audio files.
Thanks!
Yeah, it's pretty simple. Just go back to the beginning and hit record again. Or you can set up a loop if you want to keep re-recording the same section.
And building comps using selected parts of each take is easy.
For vocals, I would plug straight into the input on a digital recorder (or mixer if you go that route). For guitar, you can try it both ways. If you really like your guitar amp you can put a mic in front of the speaker and record that way, or if you like the effects in your recorder and it has a...
I just cut a hole in my bass drum head for my new mic, and put in a ring (Bass Drum O's) to neaten it up and keep it from tearing. But it's coming apart, and possibly wasn't together right to begin with. Anyone have a knack for getting these things to stay together?
I followed the directions to...
Thanks all! Seems from what I read here and around like any 3-pin XLR will allow a balanced signal, and mine do have two live and a ground, so I'll make that assumption.
Through searching posts I read that if mixing dynamic with condenser mics under phantom power, you should use balanced cables.
I have some I bought recently I know are, but without being an electrician, how would I tell if older cables are balanced or not? I'm talking XLR to XLR mic cables. The...
One of the amps is a PA amp with line level inputs, but yeah, the other is for a guitar. And our volume isn't all that loud, just basically loud enough to match the acoustic drums. It is a very budget setup, and I might consider a regular PA system or using headphones like you suggested.
I've got a small practice room with two vocal mics going into two amps via a little mixer, and am having a tough time getting them positioned so there isn't feedback. Since it's a smallish room they're going to be close, so I tried turning an amp into the wall/away from the mics, but still can't...
Thanks all! Some good ideas to work on. I have the Sonor heads that came with the drum, a coated head on top and thin clear on bottom. They're fairly new-ish. I've had the set a year or so but don't play it heavily.
That's a great idea. I hadn't thought if it that way, thanks.
