    Alesis io26 vs. Konnekt 8 / 6

the firebox wasn't a complete bust altogether. The pre's were horrible, as were the drivers. The monitoring wasn't bad. The converters were great. The firebox is a very good interface for the money if you have the extra cash to get a dedicated pre, which I didn't. I'd definitely go with...

    Alesis io26 vs. Konnekt 8 / 6

Hey guys/gals - Buying a new interface in a few days. Had to sell my firebox because I was so dissappointed with the pres. I know I should be using a dmp3 or the like for pres, but I'm tight budgeted and am looking for an interface with some good pres. Between the alesis io26 (which I like...

    Firebox distorted skipping problem

My Firebox keeps doing this frustrating, annoying thing where everytime I open up a new application, or new window while audio is playing, the audio will started doing this slow distorted skipping. I called Presonus, they had no idea. Has anyone had this problem. I talked to a guy who I used...

    Cleaning capsules

Thanks. My B1 has a dirty capsule. I bought it used, opened it up, and noticed there was a thin layer of dust covering the capsule, and a bit of oxidization from just breath and spit.

How would one go about safely cleaning the capsule on a large diaphragm?

    AT2020, CADM177, or M-Audio Luna?

I just reread your c1 post...if you don't like bright, you may actually like the cad series. The beta 58 gave me a bit of a sparkle, which i liked, but others may not. The at2020 was a nice flat response, sounded like my voice, but louder...I just found the cad's dulled out the signal and...

    AT2020, CADM177, or M-Audio Luna?

I've tried the at2020, compared it to a 177 and 179 for a full day recording session. Overall, I dug the 2020 more. Wasn't impressed with the cad's at all. The beta 58 blew them away, so I'd say, for the money, and what its capable of, a beta 58 would do the trick. Have you tried a B1, not C1?

    Best budget vocal mic

Gbondo9, What are you doing on a music site. I think maybe you need to read your latest 30 posts, and reevaluate your intelligence. If you need instructions on how to do it, I'll be glad to assist you. You're racist, rude, prejudice...in your latest posts you've made fun of black people, gay...

    Best budget vocal mic

R-Pro, the chain is mic - dmp3 - presonus firebox - cubase. Pretty clean chain...not alot of character. I have alot of mids in my voice, some pretty solid lows, but kind of lack on the highs (however, do use falsettos). I haven't been able to find something that really captures the whole...

*MXL , sorry. Knew you'd get right on that, rather than input anything of merit.

Also, chessrock, I've read many of your replies to other threads. Not only do you seldom give good advice, but you seldom give advice at all. Most of the time you only state the obvious, or more likely, begin an argumentative post intended to insult, ridicule, or degrade. Try making good...

    Best budget vocal mic

What is this, a board for music snobs. Hey, I've been to a college for music production, so the reason I ask what the best budget mic is, is not because I don't know about music - you snide idiot. In my training, I have not used many budget condenser mics, nor in any studio I've interned at...
