My wife & the 8 track Recorder...

Marjo has a nice voice. I like the harmony and piano in Drift away.

    Same song, Two Versions

Rock version's bass guitar is too loud. Also, too much top shelf overall. Bass takes away from the vocals a lot. The acoustic version is a lot easier to listen to. Still an aweful lot of high end. And theres some kind of EQ unbalance in there. Maybe its the piano. Clean Electric sounds great.

    Two songs for review

I know what you mean about how people read, listen and don't reply. They do it to me all the time (jerks). Anyways, I think in the harp song, you need to have the acoustic louder, and less bottom end. Then about three quarters the way thru, we lose like half the reverb on the harp, after a...

    Shure57/58

A guy at a music shop told me to take off the wind screen globe of my 58 and mic my amp with it because the cartridge is the same as the 57.

    Rode Nt5's for electric guitar?

It happens only on peaks. But I don't know if it is my speakers that are causing this aweful noise here. Its that aweful awwwwful harsh sound on the high notes. Makes my ears hurt.

    Rode Nt5's for electric guitar?

Well my amp is probably on 4 and i have to set my preamp gain to like 1 or less, which is pretty difficult. I also think my speakers are contributing to the clipping sound, but I know that the input is definately clipping because i have an led display on my preamp that shows input and I can see...

    Rode Nt5's for electric guitar?

So, what is an in line type pad? My preamp Gain is all the way down pretty much. And when I move it off axis, it doesn't help, just changes the tone.

    Rode Nt5's for electric guitar?

I have a matched pair of these beasts. Just wondering if its suitable to record electric guitar with them. I tried close micing my amp running the clean channel fairly quiet and it clips on the input no matter how low gain is. I read that for a tube amp (which is what i have), you want to crank...

Can one song have 2 different chorus'

A sidenote Agreed. The music industry is sick. I write music because I love music. I listen to music because I like it, not because it is popular or even because its on the radio. When you hear of things like the 'standards of songwriting', you wonder what the world has come to. Don't they...

New to Recording! This is my first real mix! (2 songs) Feedback Please! =)

One thing you could do is not have everything panned to the center. Another is not sing so close to the mic, and get a pop filter. Thats "My vibe" anyway. The other has some bad clipping on the bass. It sounds like you did this all in one take and live. Thats fine, if thats the sound you are...
