Digital interference/whine when mixer is connected to PC - also shocks

Okay. I got a tester today. According to it, the wiring is "correct." So it's not that. I thought it would have been. Any other ideas?

Weird recording issue - under water sound?

If I plug a USB microphone in, it never does it. It's only when I have an audio interface or a powered mixer involved. And I posted in another thread, but I might be having some kind of power/circuitry issues because I get minor shocks when I touch the metal pickguard on my guitar.

Weird recording issue - under water sound?

It's not the amp. In my headphones as I'm recording, it sounds fine. It doesn't matter what program or input I use to record either. It does it if I plug into the mini jack or via USB.

Weird recording issue - under water sound?

I don't know what the word is to describe the sound I'm getting when I record. With various audio interfaces and mixers, this happens. The recording will sound fine for a few seconds, but then it gets all mangled and under water sounding. Here's an example recording...

Digital interference/whine when mixer is connected to PC - also shocks

I don't think it's my amp because it happens with other amps too. It very well could be the circuitry though. I have not tried it somewhere else. I need to do that. If it matters. my amp is plugged into a power strip that is plugged into the wall. Do you think that would matter?

Digital interference/whine when mixer is connected to PC - also shocks

I posted about this here years ago, but I'm going to bring it up again with new information because I don't think it's just a matter of it being a mixer and not an audio interface. I'm no expert, obviously, or else I wouldn't be asking. But I'm wondering if I'm getting interference from...

    Guitar EQ/mixing

Maybe. I'm not new to recording, but it seems like whenever I do get a good guitar sound, it's just luck. I know a single guitar track isn't going to sound amazing, but like I said above, I'll listen to people's raw guitar tracks on YouTube, and they sound way better. And again, they've probably...

    Guitar EQ/mixing

Yeah, I was planning on doing that, adding another guitar and bass to the mix. I guess I just watch YouTube videos of people recording guitar, just one guitar, and it sounds awesome. Maybe it's just chorus effects and reverb or something, but I feel like they sound way better than this. So I...

    Guitar EQ/mixing

I'm working on a new album, and more than anything, I want the guitars to sound better than they usually do on my albums. Even after playing with the EQ for what seems like hours, I can't get it to sound right. Maybe the raw recording is bad, and no amount of EQ can fix it. I've never been able...

Slight hum/static/interference when recording with mixer connected via USB

I have an Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX connected to my computer via USB. When I record with it, I get this constant sound in my recordings. I'm not sure what you could call it. It sounds like the gain or something is up too high somewhere, but it does it even when nothing is plugged in and all the...

Recording through mic input while listening to PC audio through headphones?

Ah. That works. I think I'm pretty good with computers and whatever, but I've never thought about a USB cable sending and receiving audio streams at the same time. I also had to change my PC audio out settings to "USB Audio Codec." Anyway, so thanks. :)

Recording through mic input while listening to PC audio through headphones?

Sorry. I should have mentioned that. Yes, the mixer is connected to my computer via USB. How can I get the audio coming from my PC into my mixer and therefore into my headphones without recording the PC audio? Like, I'll have the drum track playing on my computer, so I want to hear that through...

Recording through mic input while listening to PC audio through headphones?

Hi again. I'm back with an Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX mixer! Pretty cool, but I'm still able able to come up with a good way to hear my guitar (which is plugged into the mixer) as well as my PC audio through my headphones (which are plugged into the mixer). There are many inputs on the mixer, and...

Recording through mic input while listening to PC audio through headphones?

Ah. I see I'm getting different sides here. I probably have the first model. It doesn't have a model number anywhere. If I was allowed to, I'd post a link to it, but if you search Google for "maudio fast track," the first result should be a PDF of the user manual for it.

Recording through mic input while listening to PC audio through headphones?

That is what is happening, but to me, it's strange that it works that way. So if I got an audio interface, maybe another Fast Track, for example, would my setup work with that? Would I be able to connect headphones to it and be able to hear what's coming from my amp and my PC through my...
