I have some nasty clipping on the snare drum of some tracks I created awhile ago. I was reading into depopping tools and wonder if any plugins were available to do this in Cubase SL.
the solo button in the mixer. Sometimes when I press it it sets the recorded enable button. I then have to disable recording and press the overall solo button to unsolo the track. Sometimes it works as expected. Any advice? I imagine it is a mode problem or something.
Also, I am thinking...
My mixer has a Pre Fader, Pre EQ insert send/recieve TRS 1/4" connector. Can I take a TS patch cord and connect that connector to my recorder (Delta 44) if I just wanted to use the Pre-Amps on my mixer?
barefoot,
I guess the biggest concern I have for monitors is that of translatability. I want better knowledge of what my recording will sound like most of the time. I was concerned with flat frequency response because I don't want a bass sound that is diminished compared with a mid sound...
These are all really good responses (except the bitch slap suggestion ;) ).
I think my friend was saying that the Yorkie's were HiFi and probably didn't translate well.
Thanks for the excellent info,

I really need to buy some monitors and am confused about what I need to look for. What are the characteristics of good monitors? What things do I end up sacrificing when I buy cheaper monitors? The ultimate characteristic of a transducer is its frequency response, but what tangible attributes...
I was wondering if someone could help me find so speakers, specifically for mixing multi-tracked recording. What type of frequency response is acceptable? Can I buy a decent pair for under $500?
Thanks

I had sort of the same error with Cubase VST 5.0 when trying to burn audio mixes. My problem was that I was exporting to 24-bit, 44.1 kHz which isn't standard audio format. Make sure you are using 16-bit 44.1 kHz. My guess is Cool Edit Pro is doing that for you.
As for the other error...
Okay, so I again jumped the gun. I was using the wrong driver. I don't know how it changed but it did. I switched to the "Multimedia driver" instead of the "ASIO" driver and now I can set my sampling rate to 44.1 kHz.

I have recorded some material using Cubase VST 5.0. I later used Cool Edit Pro to do some Wave file editing on some of the same wave files. Somehow my sampling rate got messed up and the songs are playing back too fast in Cubase. Everything was set to 44.1 kHz but now it won't let me have the...
I just record a demo for the first time at home and have a couple questions for the mixdown.
I recorded with all Cardiod mikes and as a consequence (frequency response) am missing a lot of "highs". Should I try to compensate this by equilization? If so what type of filter (band pass, high...
I am having trouble mixing in some minor tamborine parts that I added. I can't find the right level and effects. I want the tamborine to be present but not a "part" of the song, just an embellishment. Any suggestions?
Thanks
