Just as a recommendation to increase the odds of getting feedback...
I'd try to get your songs online in as easier format to access. A player in myspace, or a spot that allows someone to stream the song rather than download in it's entirety before listening.
Also... maybe just post a link to...
can you record using a dynamic mic? If so, there is a button for phantom power on the front of the interface that you might need to press. I think a little red LED comes on when it's activated.
I'm not saying this to be flippant, but you might want to try to find someone locally you could hire to do this for you.
Sounds like you are having problems with a bunch of things. Basically you need to import the songs into an audio program (audacity is a good free one), edit the files, then...
Have you checked if those talk radio shows and sermons might be available post-broadcast via a podcast?
If so, install iTunes, subscribe to those podcasts, and you are in heaven!! Delivered right to your desktop. :-)
I'd have to say it's good value.
I've got a UX-1 and UX2, and I'm happy with the functionality and variety of tones they can generate (in conjunction with the software).
Another nice function is the *vst plugins that integrate directly into Cubase and other DAW's that allow me to play with...
i think there is a way.. but i'm not at my music computer to check.
A workaround might just be to copy the waveform to a new track. Then re-do the automation?
I'm not sure about the specifics of that model you are talking about.. but i'm pretty sure that you can't track 8 tracks via a USB 2.0 connection.
I have a firewire mixer, and i think the most it will record is 4 tracks at a time... maybe even 2.
Sorry can't give a definitive answer, but i'd...
If you can (at not cost, with a bit of work) try it with Win XP. it is pretty much more stable than either vista or 7. It has been around since 2001, so most of the bugs have been worked out.
for what it's worth... i record with and use XP, and avoid vista and 7 like the plague
not sure on the quality of it, but just so you know, regardless of the quality.. it is not going to 'soundproof' your wall/room.
Sound like you are talking about wall treatment, and it may make the sound in the room a bit better (or at least 'deader' -- at certain frequencies)... but it really...
I can't recommend avoiding the firewire version enough. I have a multimix 8 firewire.
They have serious quality control problems with them, and the firmware is buggy to say the least.
I spent hours and hours trying to get it to work, and finally convinced them it was a dud. They replaced it...
I think I've seen this before as well.
If i remember properly, one thing i did that fixed it was to set the UX2 as the default soundcard in the windows control panels/sounds applet.
You might need to mess around with input channels in Cubase to get this to work properly as well.
I've got a...
Agreed with others.. but also, when you are mixing use some of those CD's/songs that sound great in the 'crap speakers' as references.
Your mix might sound good on the good gear, until you listen to the other songs on the good gear. Then your mixes might sound like crap on the good gear.
hope...
