I've got a Kindle... first generation when it first came out... and I honestly don't think it would be useful for gigs in the dark. You would need a light of some kind, not to mention... how do you mount it on a mic stand? Turning pages / finding songs would be a pain, as well as formatting...

I think it sounds great. I'm not crazy about the kick... I want to hear something a little more 'special'... or with more presence... but it sounds good to go.

I've been looking at tablets for a reason hardly anybody else does... to use it for lyrics during live work. Got the idea when I saw the keyboardist from Dream Theater using a tablet as a sheet music reader during gigs.. he would turn the pages with some pedals. I think his version was over...

I also use VISTAPRINT. I recommend it. Make sure that the print is big enough to read... the last two that I did were hard to read when I got the final. They were my mistakes.

I would buy a modeler of some kind. You can find them for $90... like the Digitech jobs, or maybe a used Pod... there are many out there. You will get more tones with a modeler than with that one amp. The amp will probably only be good for a certain type of sound, and the modeler will be more...

I can totally respect what you're saying. The idea I had (which is probably not original) was to present new music for FREE, with the artist collecting money from ads that people click on in the page. Or maybe that we require them to watch a 30 second commercial before downloading each song...

I feel your pain. Get the bassist to record the bass parts for your songs on your recording software DAW, then make WAVE files of his performances onto CD. If you have a reliable CD player (or Minidisc), I guarantee you he'll be there every time for future gigs! :D
