Crackling caused by NVIDIA video card?
Hi, I recently bought a new desktop with the following specs:
CPU: Intel® Core 2 Quad-Core Q8300 Processor (2.50GHz, 4MB cache, 1333MHz FSB)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
RAM: 6 GB DDR2 RAM
Video Card: 1.024 MB NVIDIA GeForce GT220

I've recently bought myself a new desktop with Windows 7 64bit. I installed my Audiophile 2496 and the latest driver (5.10.0.5074). Windows recognizes the card and there is sound.
As a playing device I can only choose between S/PDIF and Line 1/2 so I selected Line 1/2. As a recording device I...
Up untill now I have been recording guitar, bass and vocals, using an audiophile 24/96 and Cubase VST with good results.
My PC is 5 years old now so I guess it's about time for an upgrade. I have some money saved up for it. I'm planning on buying Cubase 4 and I would like to continue using the...
I recently switched from Cubase VST to SX.
Can someone tell me where I can see how much latency I'm experiencing?
I'm using an audiophile 2496 soundcard.
Thanks
For everyone who's always saying it's impossible to make realistic sounding sequenced drums listen to this. It's a cover of Alice in Chains' 'would?'.
I made the drums using Fruity Loops and managed to fool most people in the clinic.

I made this cover a couple of months ago and posted it in the clinic then. You guys helped me out and basically I just did everything you guys mentioned:
- I tried te eq the pitchy spots out of the chorus
- added distortion to the guitars in the chorus
- rerecorded some vocals with a pop filter...
This is by far the hardest cover I've done so far. I did everything by myself. I'd like some comments on the mix and also on the vocals cause I know there are some serious issues there. I know I don't have the best voice and I'm really not that great of a singer but I still thinkl I should be...
I know the difference between the Shure Sm58 en Sm57 has come up a lot and I think I read every thread there is about..
I've been recording vocals through a Sennheiser e825s going to my V-amp2 for too long now. I decided to spend some money on better gear.
I've already bought a DMP3 but I need a...
I usually record the rhythm guitar 2 times and pan one hard left and the other hard right to widen the mix. However I've noticed in professional recordings that when there are no other instruments except for an acoustic guitar, this technique is not applied. Instead the acoustic plucking or...
A friend of mine gave me some tracks he recorded with his band and he wants me to mix them. Since they only recorded the rhythm guitar part once, i decided to double it by copying and pasting the same parts and pan one hard left and the other hard right to get a wider mix.
Strangly enough I get...
I posted this one before but some of you told me the major issues. So I retracked some guitar parts and remixed the whole thing all over.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out (thanks to those who helped). I like to stay pretty close to the original. Too bad my voice isn't quite up to it...
I wanna buy a good vocal preamp.
It doesn't have to be the absolute best (read most expensive) one, but I'd rather pay a few bucks more then end up with a piece of crap.
Any suggestions?
I posted this one before but without the vocals. I finally added them and finished the whole song. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I might have to bring those vocals down a bit.
I also added the intro which is done on guitar! I finally figured out how Tom Morello did that.
Any...
A friend of mine is in a good rockband. They recorded a demo a in a studio, paid a lot of money for it, but the quality was pretty poor so they weren't happy with it. Now they wanna do it themselves so I offered my help, I actually have never worked with someone else's stuff.
They brought me...
Whenever I play a wav. or mp3 with windows media player, the volume level is much lower then, when I play something in Cubase. I've tried playing a cd in Cubase and it seemed to be 10 times louder then when I played the same cd through the media player. The sound is never distorted or anything...
