MR-8HD - Loss of volume of the WAV file on the PC/LAPTOP

Terfyn, many thanks. I re - bounced the tracks and this time the volume on the wav [on the laptop] came out great. But some parts [harmony vocals] appear to close to the mic. I presume I can use my AUDACITY to fix that. This will be a learning experience on doing that; as have never tried...

MR-8HD - Loss of volume of the WAV file on the PC/LAPTOP

The process of recording on the Fostex MR-8HD is:, (1) after recording all your tracks; (2) bouncing your tracks 1-6 to tracks 7/8; (3) converting the two mono WAV on tracks 7/8 to a stereo WAV file and (4) finally exporting the WAV to your PC/Laptop. I have found on occasions that the sound...

    Bouncing Tracks 1 – 8 to new song - MR - 8HD

I tried the bouncing on a different song and the feature worked meaning as soon as the song ended the bounce ended successfully. So I headed back to the song that carried way beyond the end. I tried the bounce again and let it ride beyond the end of the song. It went for 45 seconds and finally...

    Bouncing Tracks 1 – 8 to new song - MR - 8HD

I will check the software version; I believe I have V1.31. As far the disk capacity; I believe I have about 84 hours left, again I will check that. If the disk was full I should get a warning message and the operation would be cancelled; but this is not the case. I will attempt a different...

    Bouncing Tracks 1 – 8 to new song - MR - 8HD

In an attempt to Bounce Tracks 1 -8 to a new song; I am having a problem when the new song completes the recorder does not automatically stop.:( The track bouncing starts very successfully showing the BOUNCE 1 – 8 -> Song74 ; but continues, way past the point where the song ends. This forces...

    Copying/pasting the part(s)-1 & part(s)-2 - MR-8HD & possibly MR-16HD

Just an update {if anyone is interested}. : As Terfyn mentioned; the second option was what I used. "In the manual 'Copying/pasting the part(s)-2' - says I can copy the desired part(s) of the selected track(s) and paste it(them) to the OTHER TIME POSITION of the desired track(s)." So just to...

    Copying/pasting the part(s)-1 & part(s)-2 - MR-8HD & possibly MR-16HD

Will do;..... will try it and see how it works. I suspected that the answer may be in the second option. It might be a little tricky as the Locate A and Locate B 'function' has to be used - both on the track(s) that I am copying from,.... and the track(s) I am copying to. When referring to the...

    Copying/pasting the part(s)-1 & part(s)-2 - MR-8HD & possibly MR-16HD

I have a MR-8HD and I am attempting to copy from track 1 and 2 [2 different parts of the track] and make them 'one' on track 3 and 4. In the manual 'Copying/pasting the part(s)-1' says you can copy the desired part(s) of the selected track(s) and paste it (them) to the same time position of the...

May be a dumb question about MR8HD

erasing track data are you using the process described in the manual on "Erasing Track Data"? Note: You cannot erase track data of a song protected. You might want to check to see if you have the song protected.

Fostex MR-8HD - blip on screen & "ACC"

distance of Mic from acoustic instrument I found out with some experimentation, that I was too close to the mic. When I positioned the MIC say about 5 inches or more away from the SM57 and the Sm58; the fostex MR-8HD recorded just fine.

Fostex MR-8HD - blip on screen & "ACC"

the Fostex blip The last version I installed was Version 1.31 on the Fostex. This blip does not happen if I record ; with guitar [electric or acoustic] plugged directly to the fostex. It does not happen with vocals using an SM57 or an SM58. I am thinking that the use of a dynamic mic to...

Fostex MR-8HD - blip on screen & "ACC"

When I record an acoustic instrument; [ in this case its a Ukulele ] I use an SM57 MIC. During the recording [and during playback] there is a round ball blip and a flash of "ACC" every 5 seconds on the screen. Anybody know the cause and what "ACC" means? As you can well imagine...
