Thanks again for the comments! Wasn't able to post right away because of work as well as checking the other forum sites i go to.
By the way, this is a bit off topic but if you guys want a free eventide Ultr4aChannel plugin worth $249, check out the link Eventide UltraChannel

RAMI - I only do this as a hobby (along with setting up car audio, home audio, computers, etc) and I do all my hobbies when I get some free time from my hectic work. I don't have the leisure to read and study all the technical jargons associated with my hobbies. Actually, I just learned recently...
steenamaroo - thanks very much if you are the one who gave me rep (im green again =). I tried checking the settings on top right but i cant find who gave me rep so im just guessing its you.
For monitor speakers, Im sad to say that I dont have the space for it. The space where I have my...
Thanks for the comments. Sorry i wasn't able to reply right away as I got busy with work.
Anyway, on another note, it seems that I've gotten a negative reputation from this thread which was given perhaps by RAMI as he messaged me as such:

I understand from the threads ive read about the importance of monitors in mixing. However, i don't have the luxury of using them for various reasons.
Anyway, for mixing, is there a headphone that will give me this:
a) open or semi-open (as this will give me better sound quality as per the...
Thank you very much. So if i am going to invest in headphones, i would choose this:
Say I have $400 to spend on headphones:

b) Mixing = get open headphones and spend a lot of money on this ($200)
c) Monitoring = get open...

Please help a newbie.
What is the difference between Tracking, Monitoring, Mixing, etc? (any other words i need to know?)
I've come across these words and im not 100% sure if i got it right. So far i think Tracking means recording to a computer? Mixing is listening to your recording in a DAW...
Hi,
What headphones would you suggeest for recording in the $200 range?
I will be using this for vocal recording only. (I will be plug it in my mixer so i could hear the backtrack music plus my own voice)
Primary importance is for it not to leak sound to my mic so that I can capture my voice...
HI.
I am very new to this but I love singing (karaoke) and would like to start getting my feet wet and dwell on various aspects like:
a) how to EQ my karaoke system
b) how to use a compressor / limiter / gate / etc
c) how to record my voice
d) how to mix my voice with instruments in a DAW...
Checked the X32 but even their smaller mixers are twice as expensive.
Anyway, to all those who posted, thank you very much for all the comments / suggestions / insights / cryticism (may it be constructive or not).
I have taken into consideration all of your posts before finally deciding to go...
