    First Song I'm proud of

I use midi for my piano. Just the stock keys that came with Ableton. Drums are the BFD drums. You are the second person to tell me the drums are kind of distracting. I'll definitely take that into consideration. My vocal mic is the Rhode NT1A and for the guitar, I am using a SM57 micing a...

    First Song I'm proud of

Hey everyone, I used to visit and just read stuff here all the time. Now I've decided to post something I recently wrote. I hope you can take a listen and let me know what you think. I'm still learning, as I think we all are, so any advice would always be appreciated. Thanks! Here's the...

Short-lived Aria Pro 2 'The Cat'

Yeah, I know I'm about to respond to a 3 year old thread, but whatever. I just thought I'd say that my guitar teacher picked up "the cat" by Aria Pro II at a pawn shop for me when I was in grade 8. I didn't really know much about guitars then, so I didn't take care of it very well...

Three Suns (New Original From Propman)

Just thought I'd say this song is hella sweet. You got tons of talent. I'm jealous.

    am lost

try making sure your preamp is plugged into a different outlet than your computer (or whatever you are recording with). I had that issue with a bad hiss for a while, and that's what was causing it.

Do You Like (Or Hate) Your Voice?

I have to admit I like my voice. I used to be self-conscious about it, but it took for this to happen for it to change: In grade 12, I used to sing in the worship team at my church. My friend did sound for the church. One day, on a school trip, he put in a tape, and played it while we were...

    Home Recording Label, idea

So, just to clarify. Are we thinking of starting this up as a channel to distribute our own music? Or are we going to promote the bands that we record. Personally, I think that latter option would be more effective. We provide the website, a multitude of studios, and we can collaberate with...

    Sarah's Song...first try

oh yeah, and I would love to add drums, but I don't have the ability to record them (or play them adequately) yet. I really don't think a drum machine would sound good with this style, so I just left it out. Anyone know any good "real" sounding drum machines or anything?

    Sarah's Song...first try

thanks, guys. Definitely will use a pop filter next time. Since this recording I've invested in a proper vocal mic (Rode NT1A and a pop filter). And I have no mp3s of this song (other than the myspace one) so I can't even post it to Soundclick. Next time for sure, though.

    Sarah's Song...first try

Alright, I was really hesitant to put this up here, but I figure I plan on getting more seriously into recording, so I'll need all the help I can get (even if my ego takes a beating in the process). I recorded this song 2 years ago. Since then, my computer has completely died, so I have no way...

Writer's Block. How do YOU deal?

Well, this is definitely interesting to see how everyone copes so differently with "writer's block", or whatever I should call it. I find the space I'm in (physically, not mentally or emotionally) can really impact my ability to be creative. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm an...

    I need the right computer

For what it's worth, here's my opinion. I'm about to buy a computer, and plan on running Sonar 8.5, so I've been doing a heck of a lot of research. I would say that in order of importance, components would be: processor ram motherboard hard drive Of course, I'm not even mentioning your audio...
