    Boiling your strings

I have boiled bass and guitar strings. It will make the strings sound brighter for a while. When the strings get to that point there are usually groves worn into them from fret wear ... they will be nearly impossible to tune and will still sound like crap. Boiling is ok in a pinch but really not...

    mosfet?

The characteristic curves of a V channel Mosfet look a lot like a vacuum tupe pentode.

Whats the deal with the Valveking?

The Peavey Classic series is the only Peavey I would buy the rest of them suck .. I should know because I own at least six of them now and have owed over a dozen of them over the years. You can't go wrong with a Traynor. I own a YCVwr40 and I love the thing. When you upgrade the power tubes it...

Looking for a certain guage pick

You might want to try some of my 2mm hardwood picks especially lignum-vitae and ebony ( although I use several different woods ). Hard wood picks are the best tone generators IMO and I have used every pick type and gauge you can think of including gem stone. My picks are reasonably priced and...

Fastest guitarist in the world - official

I have seen this performed before by classical guitarists, just as fast. So what. Before you all cream your jeans see if he can play it on an acoustical guitar. ...and if you all practice your tremelo you could play it fast too. Ok mabey not at 320bpm. I have the score for this and was going...

To Tired to Write and Record

When played properly bass really is a different animal IMO. It is not that I hate playing bass. I just like guitar a lot more. As for shredding ... I was playing crap like that before it was called anything. Gave it up to play music.

    Pick your pick

Back in the '60's when I started to study guitar seriously I used Fender light guage picks. My teacher handed me a Fender XXX heavy pick( you can't get them anymore ) and told me not to play with anything else. Once I leaned proper picking (and strumming) techniques I could not play with a light...

To Tired to Write and Record

I get frustrated on several levels. 1.) The wife doesn't have a clue or understand the motivation behind the creative process, let alone recording. Most of the music she listens to is designed for primitive mating rituals and arousal of the genitalia. Disco dose suck BTW. 2.) Time 3.) Finding...

    Pick your pick

Plastic picks wear out but wooden picks actually break in and start sounding real good. The tips of my picks can be "fixed" if need be with a light swipe from an emory board or quality nail file. They can last a good long time and can be recycled and made into smaller shapes. I used tortise...

    Pick your pick

They don't weigh 5lb but they are very hard. Some guys like 'em so I make a few here and there when I need to make picks. I prefer Ebony myself.

    Pick your pick

I use wooden picks that I manufacture from Ebony, Ipe, and Lignum Vitae and Snakewood when I can afford it. I used to use stone picks but the wooden picks produce the best tone that I have heard. They range from 1.5mm, 2mm, and 2.5mm depending on my mood. I also have a 3mm pick but I only make...
