I'm stuck, bored. How about I professionally mix/master your music for free.

I couldn't agree with you more, and my own studio is worth far less. I have many years of experience, and I know my way around a studio pretty well. I'm just saying, the equiptment is good, as is the engineer.

Well, I'm going to be stuck watching over a friend's house for a few days and he happens to have a semi-pro studio set up. As do I, but not here obviously. There's no way for me to make my own music here, but I have probably 10k+ worth of equiptment here at my disposal, and I can use it too...

Do I *need* a breakout box with a Delta 66?

My friend has just the Delta 66 PCI card and he'll let it go for 100. It doesn't come with anything more. Can I still record and all that with just the card? Also, can I download the drivers and software to get it working?

I really need some advice on a mixing board

Well I own the FX16 and it's a great board. The pres are quite a bit warmer than mackie pres, and about the same as Allen and Heaths as far as quality goes. I'd certainly suggest it. You can find them on ebay for as little as 300 occasionally.

    Unpowered monitors through stereo receiver?

Nevermind, I figured it was basically an amp anyway, and plugged it in. Works fine, sounds a bit different than an amp though.

    Unpowered monitors through stereo receiver?

I have a pair of Alesis Monitor One MKIIs and I'm wondering if I can safely plug them into my home stereo receiver. Keep in mind these are unpowered monitors. Can it be done?

    I love the shure SM-57.

No one, I'm just saying... =P

    I love the shure SM-57.

Sure, the 57 may not be as great as your $400,000 superdupermicrodeluxex z-w43553553fl-xl-1A special editions, but can you take one of those, step on it, bang it up against the wall a few times, plug a cable into it and swing it onto the roof of your studio, pull it back down onto the concrete...

    I love the shure SM-57.

My god, if I had to choose one mic to use from now on, it would be this one. It's so freaking versatile, and so freaking durable. One of my older ones fell off the stand today and cracked against a hard metal thingy and the top part broke completely off, a wire (I think) popped off and a metal...

Can I use multiple mics on drums, but record into the daw with 1 channel?

Yes, but could I do that with the soundblaster? I'm sure my mixer is capable. Also, how would I go about sending it to to the card? Where would I plug the cable coming from the card in the mixer? For recording I just plug it into the output at the very top of the mixer/channel. Perhaps I...

how would you mic a cowbell?

I don't know how to record a cowbell, but I can tell you this: You need more of it.

Can I use multiple mics on drums, but record into the daw with 1 channel?

This isn't the regular fojar, but a friend. I have a soundcraft spirit SX and plenty of the right mics (thanks fojar) and I want to record drums. I'm thinking regular 'ol kick, two overheads, toms, snare. The only problem is, I have a horrible soundcard with only one input (oh god...
