    Jamfest 7

At a glance, August 10 - 12 looks like it's the usual 2nd weekend in August (...yeah... dtb and crazy Lee will be here for a month, and if it's like this last one, We'll have 45 people here by Thursday, but who's counting  ).

How do you know when you're ready for live?

My thought exactly. Remember to NEVER take youself too seriously. I mean, do what you do and do it to the best of your ability. Laugh at mistakes, and if some one starts heckling you, have them come up on stage and show you up. They often never blow you away, and even if they do, it's a...

    it's time again

Damn, it's that time already. I need to take a class on time management, 'cause I just can't seem to break away from this place for nothing. I mean, hell, I barely get a chance to get on-line these days. I'll pencil it in on the calender and see if the car's going South on 95 on the 21st...

The "Welcome to My Nightmare Gig" Thread

LOL, yeah, and it is EVERYONE too, the crowd and the band, even if some clod onstage keeps sticking the mic in front of a main or monitor. I'm in a duo, and I usually point out the sound guy for everyone to harrass when there's an earsplitting feedback event... I actually do our sound from...

got the old band back together...

well, we made it through the first two gigs after only three practice sessions. I'd say it went off as well as could be expected considering I had to get through it with a wicked case of brochitis (which, I guess I should be counting my blessings because Kathy is layed up with pnumonia :( )...

got the old band back together...

I was playing my usual gig on St. Paddy's day, and around the end of the second set, who walks in but my bandmate from 10 years ago. After we split, there may have been some bad blood, and then we just got busy with our own things, so we totally lost contact for around ten years (and We were...

    band contract advice

see if the city has a canned contract, or past contracts in their archives. I never liked contracts myself, as I found that the agent used to walk with an absorbitant amount of $$$ where we would end up with like a 1/4 of the take... and when you would try to connect with the gig at a better...

St Paddy's Day (not to mention QQ's birthday) in Vernon, CT

Well, I made it through. Kind of a stiff crowd. I mean, I knew most of the people there, but at this place, the regulars usually get things rolling for me and they were conspicuously absent (Probably because it's a Thursday night). Different staffing too. They seemed new, and the old staff...

St Paddy's Day (not to mention QQ's birthday) in Vernon, CT

That's right... so if you're in the area, why not spend St Patrick's Day the way it was intended... Listening to live music and getting slammed in an authentic Mexican restaurant! Pancho Loco on Route 83 Vernon, CT to be exact. Sure, I'll probably end up playing Danny Boy, The Black...

    2nd anal acoustic mini-fest

:( the little one is still a little little to make the trek this year... and I don't think we have a car that would make the trip right now, so things are looking bleak (I held out hope for as long as I could... but who knows... tommorrow's another day and who knows what it'll bring :) )

Roland VK-77 on EBAY... probably with more stuff to follow..

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I'm unloading some stuff. I currently have the Roland VK-77 Dual Manual Keyboard up on the block. In the future, as I go through my stuff, I'm thinking about putting up a JBL/URIE ES600 stereo power amp, maybe my AT 4050, some MIDI modules and drum pads...
