Recording From BASS Amp Not Sounding Good

looking at the specs for the Tascam DP 02 8 track recorder, there are 2 inputs you could be plugging into. Input A or B. Input A has a selector switch for Instrument or Line level. If you are plugging into input A, and using a line signal from the amp, make sure to set the Inst / Line selector...

Guitar Rig 4, Worth it to upgrade to 5

I have Guitar Rig 4 Pro, and am considering upgrading to 5. Would like to hear any thoughts from anybody who has gone from Guitar Rig 4 to 5 about whats new and whether its worth the upgrade. If you had it to do over again, would you stick with version 4? Thanks in advance Jason

    Reaper Input FX

are you monitoring through the outputs on the FireBox or through the Xonar D1 sound card? You should be using the FireBox for both input and output when recording. monitoring through the Xonar D1 sound card would cause the type of latency you are reporting.

Used Rode NT5 matched pair pricing

OK, thanks to all who responded. Like you said, John, the absence of the case worries me for the same reason. I asked about how they had been stored, and he said he's been keeping them in an anvil case, so that bodes well for the condition. I counter offered $200, we'll see where that goes...

Used Rode NT5 matched pair pricing

at this point, I have not seen them in person, but the seller is local so that's the next step. right now, I'm just trying to gauge resale value to determine if it's worth the sellers and mines time to examine the goods. My gut tells me the price is a bit high, without seeing the mics in...

    distortion guitar problems

I agree with Sonixx and Guitargodgt Guitargodgt, I don't hear anything abnormal either. If your going through an Amp, try upping the mid and dropping the bass. It sounds to me like the bass is cranked up causing low end rumble. Jason

would this be a good deal?

Ok thanks for the clarification, that's a huge help. If neither is preferred for acoustic work, though, what application would the Audix fill?

would this be a good deal?

I understand the YMMV vary part, that's sort of why I was asking about the pros and cons of each of the mics. Why would you steer clear of the st31 and go for the audix? What about the audix is better suited than the st1?

would this be a good deal?

How about thoughts on an Audix i-5 mic? They have one of those going for $40. Or Sterling Audio st31? they have 2 of those going for $40 each.

would this be a good deal?

OK, Thanks for the info, sounds like i'll be giving the AKG a pass. They have a couple of DI boxes that I'll probably pick up for $35 each, so at least it's not a total wash. Cheers, Jason
