Wow, I haven't been here since 2005. I don't have a current bigger picture, so this will have to do for now. I'm building out the tracking room so that it's larger, should be done before year end.

I had a washburn with one in 89 it was cool with a phaser, or flanger and delay to do some trippy sounding stuff.

The 1st version of my studio (ca. 2000) came to me as a form of payment from the radio station I did work for - they were going out of business and had no cash, so the DAW, dongles, etc came with me. Other than that, the studio pays for itself (I only run it about 60 hours per month total).

So I'm I am trying to broaden my knowledge of urban/dance/underground type genres of music. What elements in a body of music make it hip-hop, verses rap, verses, house or r&b? Is it the tempo? The drums, the type of drums? Additional instruments? Thanks.

I had a 66 and 1010 linked via SPDIF. I don't think you can sync the two 44s.

Too bad to hear. I have spent about $1000 with them since November 05, I was shipped a drum set with no top/choke to the hat stand/pedal. I told them the situation, they sent me to the wharehouse supervisor who said he would hunt around and see if there was a loose one to send. A couple of days...

Intern at Xstatic's studio ;) There's a studio in SLC that used to take interns. I thought I read somewhere that they did some mixing or orchestral recordings for LoTR -its an old church on the west side. Sorry - nothing useful :(

My vote is the KRKs with TA1600 - works great here, or rather did. Now its a RA100 and KRKs

I use a 66 with the Omni breakout box - nice kit. Works with PT M-Powered too.

Get a Frontier Design Dakota and Montana will give you 32 adat channels. can be had used for about $400

I'll use the room on a True Verb (kill the verb leaving the room and the pre delay) and then have a Ren Verb with a nice verb tail.
