    Condenser Microphone

What about AT stuff? have you looked at the AT2020? This mic works well on a number of aplications and wont cost you as much as others on your list. I also recomend the B1, great all around mic.

who comments on my user cp?

Call me an asshole? Who the hell are you? speek up and show yourself! I understand if you think that me getting a good deal on a mic from a kid on the street might suggest I'm some sort of deal seeker, but calling me an asshole...humm....looks like sombodys a pretty poor sport. Why don't you go...

    Should i buy a Groove Tubes GT55?

I just got mine and I'm loving it. Best vocal mic in I own. I have found it very useful for my particular voice (kinda baratoneish, deeper sounding) this mic sounds much better for me then the AKG c3000 or 414 and better then a studio projects C1 as well. Good luck.

OT: GT55 Groove Tubes Mic Pawn Shop story

One day after getting off work early and making a quick trip to the bank to cash my check, I decided to stop by the local pawn shop. Without any change for the meter and only bills in my wallet I noticed two younger looking guys making their way toward the door of the store. Low and behold one...

What AD/DA converters are you using?

The possibility of using the converters on a pci card sound very intriguing, as far as quality goes, how dose the Lynx stuff compare to Benchmark, Lucid, Apogee, stand alone units? I’m basically at a fork in the road, deciding whether or not it’s worth it to spend money on a nice PCI card or to...

    Avalon AD2022 Preamp

According to the spec of your card, you should have two balanced TRS 1/4 in. inputs. Balanced (XLR) from the pre, to 1/4 (TRS) at the card. If you can make it happen, balanced throughout is the way to go. Good luck, and enjoy your new pre…if it ever arrives.

What AD/DA converters are you using?

I’m doing a little research trying to find a suitable converter to meet my needs. I’m switching to Logic from pro-tools, and ditching the digi002 I’ve been with for about a year. The Apogee stuff looks good (Mini-Me USB), but I’m just wondering what else is out there. I’m going for a high...

    Most preamp for the buck.

That’s just it; I'm not quite sure what I want. I know I'll buy more preamps down the road in different flavors for different uses, but for now I'd really like to concentrate on a getting a nice vocal/acoustic instrument pre.

    Most preamp for the buck.

People like you must know everything. Tell me then all mighty audio recording authority what should I (“the misguided”) look at. If your anything like me, and actually work for your money, and care how you spend it, your sarcasm dose nothing for anyone. Quite acting like an omnipotent audiophile...

    Most preamp for the buck.

Thanks for your help guys. I’ve found a pretty comprehensive list of preamps in all sorts of configurations and price ranges. Link: http://www.barnabas.com/sound/preamps.shtml There is an awful lot of stuff out there, now I jut have to stop searching and commit to something worthwhile...

    Most preamp for the buck.

In terms of money, what brands reflect good value in their products? I’m looking for a good basic pre, with two channels, high headroom. I’m not looking for a cheap gimmick, I want the real deal pro studio stuff. What preamps are recommend in the <1000$ budget. Am I better off finding an old...
