I've recently started to try recording and one of the things I don't have any experience with is MIDI, VST instruments etc.
I bought a used Akai Mini MKii last week....cheap for learning. I am curious if instead of programming drums from scratch, I am guessing that there are websites that...
I've seen many videos on Youtube from amateur musicians where they are able to record themselves playing an acoustic guitar and sing at the same time and the audio quality is excellent. I've also seen professionals such as Paul McCartney do this but I guess they can afford the sound engineers...
Thanks for all the comments so far. I WANT to think that placing monitors close to a wall, whether I have front or rear ported speakers, is less of an practical issue when you're not working in a perfect environment. I want to think that yes it's not ideal but there are so many factors in a...
I am trying to setup a basic home recording studio. I have all the basic items already. I have headphones for tracking and mixing but really want to get a pair of studio monitors. The problem I have is that my room is 12 feet by 10 feet and I cannot afford to move my desk two/three feet away...
I want to use 4CH mode and record my acoustic guitar using the built-in mics, and then plug in a condenser mic into INPUT 1 and record vocals at the same time. INPUT 2 will not be used.
Is there a way I can pan the signal from INPUT 1 to BOTH left and right channels in the second WAV file...
I have thought about this for a while and never really come up with a possible solution. And I am not sure if there is one.
I want to recording a guitar player singing and playing his acoustic guitar at the same time. I want to record the guitar with 2 mics (or one mic and one direct). I...
Hi, I gave up learning Cubase 3 years ago and continued to use my Boss BR-600 until last week, I decided AGAIN to try computer recording. I went and bought a Steinberg UR22 interface and installed Cubase AI 6.
I want to record vocals and acoustic guitar at the same time. Since I only have two...
My current setup is a Rode N-T1A connected to an M-Audio AudioBuddy preamp and then into a BOSS BR-600.
The problem I am having is that with my Rode connect to my AudioBuddy, I only had to turn up the gain by very little...(and I mean very little....less than a 2mm turn) before the signal peaks...
I am wondering if anyone out there that still prefers using an all-in-a-box solution for multi-track recording? Like a Tascam DP-01/02/03/004 etc...or a Boss BR-600/800/1200 etc.
I have questions about how to record vocals and acoustic guitar at the same time. I want to be able to make the acoustic guitar sound “better” than what I have now and I don’t know how to properly do this without getting a different interface.
Right now, my setup is Seagull S6 and a Rode NT1-A...
I currently have a Rode NT1A, a SM-57 and a cheap Apex pencil condenser mic. I am just starting to get into recording and I need your help.
I want to be able to have a set up that will allow me to record both acoustic mic'd with the SM-57 and the NT1A on vocals at the same time. I have...
I have recently setup Cubase LE4 on my computer and was able to have to running properly to record audio tracks input from a Tascam US-122L. I now want to add drum tracks to my songs.
I don't play drums and want to create a drum track using pre-recorded loop samples by drag-and-drop into bars...
This is totally newbie question but I've always wondered so I am asking it here.
A lot of pictures of someone recording vocals have the LDC mounted upside down? Is there a particular reason for this? I have always use my NT1A with the plug pointing towards the floor?!
Sorry about the newbie questions......I am still pretty new to recording even though I own a bit of equipment for a while.
For those who are using or used a cheap all-in-one box multi-track records, like a Fostex MR-8 or a Boss BR-600, how do I know that the noise I am hearing is "normal"...
I recently bought a used Fostex MR-8 MKII. I've read a number of user reviews that said that this unit has noise and then some reviews that they have no noise. I guess I got one with noise.
For the price that I paid for it, I am not expecting too much but I just want to make sure that atleast...
