Thinking about getting a Scarlett interface for its Mix Control software, but I want more separate monitor outputs. What would I use to use the SPDIF out to plug in headphones?

I'm using Sonar X2, but I'm sure I can create aux sends and output that bus to line outs like on an analog mixer. I'm just worried about latency with interfaces that don't come with routing software. I'm considering the Behringer FCA1616, which has 16 outs!

A program I'm using requires my sound processing to be 16-bit, otherwise it won't recognize my interface. The only option I get in the sound panel is 24-bit. Is there a way to force my interface into 16-bit?

I have this looping station set up, and I want to run the output of my Alexis mictube duo into my Behring mx400 line mixer. I don't understand all the hi-z low-z and impedance matching stuff. Would I be able to just connect the unbalanced 1/4" output on the preamp to the line mixer?

I use my laptop in my home studio as also my basic needs laptop, and I find that some optimizations get in the way of my regular use, and some times video editing. Is it beneficial to create a second user account with optimized settings for recording, or would it slow down my computer?
