    Converting MONO to STEREO

the trick with the 3 tracks using HPF and LPF's worked out pretty well! It's a lot better than simply using the "expander" in Sound Forge... I tried it last night, and now I need to give my ears a rest before I revisit and compare to the original mono source. we'll see who's buying who what

Reverb (FX) Automation in Vegas 5

I have a problem with with automating or changing reverb throughout an audio track in Vegas 5. I am using EXPress Reverb or Sony/SF Reverb and would like to lower the reverb level in between songs (it is a live recording, so there is talking, clapping, etc in between songs), but I can't figure...

Bass Drum and Bass Guitar Fighting

As with so much of recording, a lot of it is up to taste. However, you should try to "accenuate" different frequencies in both the kick and the bass guitar. That will help to distinguish the two sounds. Also, be sure to get not only the bassy thump of the kick, but also the tight "snap"...

Trix to convert MONO to STEREO

thanks guys... Yeah, the source is quite lo-fi - it's a mono audio source from an old VHS video camera. While it's definitely manageable (with a li'l EQing, compressing, and normalizing) I think it's worth trying to widen the sound... "Massive" gave some tips in the "Recording" discussion as...

    Converting MONO to STEREO

thanks Massive.... The phasing problem is a result of delaying the signal, correct? Also, is the significance to using "prime number" delay times to avoid channels 1 and 3 to occassionally "overlap" or "sync?"

Trix to convert MONO to STEREO

I'm not sure which discussion to post this in, but I'll try mixing/mastering... I'm looking for any tips on converting a mono audio signal to a stereo signal... I have some mono live music recordings and I'm just trying to give them a more expanded stereo feel. What I've done: 1. convert the...

    Pitch Correction Plug-Ins

as a follow up.... do either of these programs graphically analyze the intonation of the signal (vocal, for example) so I could visually see where the pitch is off??? I'm sure it would help to see in addition to hearing the problem!

    Pitch Correction Plug-Ins

I'm looking for info on any quality pitch correction plugins for Sound Forge / Vegas on a PC... I've heard of Antares Autotune and Celemony Melodyne, but they're pretty costly and would like to learn more before I make the plunge. Any insights or recommendations would be great. Also, any...

Pitch Correction & Quantizing in SF 6.0

Pitch Correction & Quantizing in Sound Forge Does anyone know if you can set parameters for pitch correction in SF6 or 7? For example, is it possible to select a group of notes, or a scale, to "snap" or correct a vocal take? I'm singing in the key of A, can I correct the vocal pitches to...
