Hi Everyone,
I have been looking at getting a Motu Ultralite but i have some questions about it and the Cue Mix software.
First off, if i am just monitoring through my DAW software, not using the Cuemix, do you know if the headphone output is a mirror of what is being sent to the monitors...
i have a question about the cue mix software that comes with the MOTU Ultralight. does it allow you to route any input to any output on the unit? So say i am recording two or three people that need separate headphones mixes, would that be possible?
thanks

Thanks guys, that is good stuff. I will start experimenting with some demo software to see how it goes. I have also been scoring some stuff out, so lets see if i can get a good midi representation.

Hi All,
I have recently been thinking about trying to write some short video game type themes. It seems like something that would be fun, plus i am always up for learning new things. I stumbled upon this guy's site and liked what i heard.

Thing is, i have...
I have heard some pretty good clips of the Zoom unit. www.acousticplayermagazine.com/forum You have to register, go to the recording section, there is a thread with a good discussion. To me it sounds very usable as a quick recording tool and perhaps even to record a cd with a live vibe given...
Not sure, i am a PC guy, so have not really considered MOTU. The guy who told me he liked the sound of the 400F alot has the Motu 896 and some high end preamps/mics. He knows his stuff and i respect his opinion.
Hi Everyone,
I have seriously been thinking about getting a Mackie 400F soon. It looks like a good interface, and people i respect have told me that the preamps sound really good.
I have been reading over the manual online, trying to get a better understanding of the unit. I have some...
Hello,
I am kind of confused about the PCI audio input cards like the Delta 44 vs the all in units like the Firebox, etc. Is there an advantage to using either? From looking at the Delta card, it seems like you need a mic pre, as oppossed to the all in one units that have built in pres. What...
Yea, i saw that. Looks interesting I am looking for a quiet, non computer solution to record solo guitar instrumentals in stereo. Paired with a good preamp, i wonder if this would fit the bill? It would be easy to transfer my takes to computer for editing.

Hello,
I am looking to plan out a setup for recording solo acoustic guitar in stereo. I play fingerstyle arrangements of irish music and starting to think about a professional unit as possible to lay down some of my music. I was thinking about the RME Fireface, it seems to get good reviews...
Ok, so when they say line level input they mean that it bypasses the firepods built in pre's? I am trying to decided between the firepod and the RME Fireface 800. I know they are big differences in gear, but i think for most situation the Fireface would be overkill feature wise for me, though...
Hello,
When using an external preamp with a firewire interface like the Firepod, what would the signal chain be? Would it go mic-external pre-input on the firepod? Or is running a signal through a good pre and then into the firepod pre not a good idea? Is there a way to bypass the firepod's...
I have a few questions for those of you that own the RME Fireface 800. From reading reviews and talking to some people who have it it seems like a really good piece of gear.
My main goal is to be able to record mostly acoustic instruments, probably solo guitar most of the time but also a...
Hi All,
I am looking around at buying a new PC recording setup soon, and am having trouble deciding on what to get. 80% of the time i will probably be recording solo acoustic fingerstyle guitar, though at times i may be recording an irish ensemble of flute, fiddle, guitar, etc. I had an Mbox...
