Nope, which is why I assumed it was okay. But I was just asking since my ear isn't too well trained to pick up these sorts of things.
I did end up just taking down the volume on the first half of the song, but I still want to know for future reference if I can be losing anything by just...
Yeah I record all my guitars and vocals well below peak levels, but I'm curious about VSTs like EZ Drummer. Does it really matter if EZ is peaking? I mean I don't really hear a difference in quality like you would if a real set was peaking out.
The reason I ask is I'm at a point in the song...
Yeah I get afraid of ruining it with words that aren't as good as the music, but even moreso I'm afraid of ruining it with my sub par recording and mixing skills. Yeah they say a good song will shine through a crappy mix (which I think is only true in certain styles of music), but having a good...

I do regular backups anyway, so if something DOES happen, I'm safe. I'd be doing that if I didn't have internet...

Select the files you want to fade with Ctrl+left click and then use the mouse cursor to adjust the fades (make sure the little icon changes to the fade tool).
The mixer is the large thing that has the knobbies and faders on it. :p
Mixers usually have preamps on them. Preamps are the things you plug the mic cable into. It drives the signal to make up for a lack of signal level the mic has on its own and drives it up so you can record at a proper...
I don't know the numbers, but it sucks. Really messes with my already crappy mixes...I hate it. However, myspace makes it really easy to get in contact with new people and bands and to show my music to a bunch of people.
