Help with choosing my first recording equipment for home studioooooo!

Live Wire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable | GuitarCenter

That's not a bad price for a good 10ft (~3mtr) guitar cable but I don't know how much postage is?

There was a mention of using mic cable for guitar? Good idea IF wired correctly!

The hot core to tip as you would expect but the cold core tied to the earth/shield/screen. This wiring (both ends) gives the lowest capacitance possible with any particular cable, much lower than doubling up the cores.
Another advantage is the "shielded" tie of the cold core seems to kill a lot of microphonics and "clickiness"

A further bonus is that good quality balance twin mic cable is a good deal cheaper than the bootieek single core instrument stuff!

took me a while to reply. lol

anyway, have you tried using the GLS for your guitar? i mean, using it to mic your guitar amplifier? i'm thinking of trying both the GLS and the Live Wire. for microphone vocals and guitar.

Yeah I've used the cables to mic my guitar amp. I even got a new amp since you were here last. :) Whatever cord you get should work fine for recording guitar.

Have you bought some gear yet? I wondered what you ended up deciding on.
