So an Alesis MultiMix 8 FireWire is a 8 in FireWire interface. With rebate, it's $250.
Anybody got experience with one of these?

The fabulous Naiant Mics, perfect for acoustic instruments!
If you don't have DavidK's CD, you are a loser.
My tunes. Thanks!

I haven't used one before so I don't know what they're like, but I did see it and I have been strongly considering buying one! Hopefully someone who's used one can shed some light on this product.
Alesis won't list any specs for the pres which makes them suspect.Originally Posted by awholtzapple

The Lexicon Omega looks very interesting, too...

I have a 16 usb. Works decent. Firewire can only be better. I say go for it. I would.
Yeah I definitely want to get a Firewire interface and I'm looking at either the MultiMix 16FW or the Mark of the Unicorn 8Pre. I do like the idea of having an actual board so can get that tactile feel - but I hear such nice things about the MOTU....
I should add that the price has been cut down to $199 new, so used should be anywhere from $100~$150 for a four in with two good pres interface.Originally Posted by apl
