Hey all. Just a quick question, and that is this: Is it rather difficult, or rather easy to fix a vu that won't light? I'm guessing it's not too difficult, but I just want to make sure I'm not wrong. Thanks a bunch!

If you can disassemble the unit in question, (you never did mention which unit it was!!), the plastic casing is simply scotch taped together so you just pull off the tape, pull off the top lens, desolder the old axial lead bulb and replace with the same minding the polarity which the original will have a red mark on and the replacement will have a black mark painted on it if it is a genuine TASCAM service part.

When you call TASCAM parts for the bulb, have ready the part number from your maintenance manual for your device.

Their parts department phone numbers are on their website;

http://www.tascam.com

Cheers! :)
