i have been recording on a tascam 424 portastudio for about 5 years now. i just bought the new 424 mk lll. i have a computer with a sound card and i'm wondering how to transfer my tapes to digital. someone told me i need to buy a dazzle adaptor. does anyone know anything about this?

You should be able to come out of the L&R outputs of the Tascam and go directly into the line input of your sound card. You just need the proper cable with whatever ends fit your gear (probably 1/8" stereo to two 1/4"?). That should be just "dazzling" enough.:D

I don't see what the Dazzle DV Audio/Video adaptor will do for you... you need a decent soundcard.......... with at least 4-inputs if you want to transfer 4-tracks at the same time...................

MOTU, RME all have excellent options.

thanks for the info. i haven't had time to look at my soundcard yet. i do ironwork during the day. it requires me to be awake at 4:45 in the morning. i'm going to try to get started this weekend though. thanks.
