Tascam DP24 External Send Effects 2

Hi.
Bit of a dumb question I'm sure, but here it goes....
I looking to add effects to a track I've recorded, but just wondering how exactly i can do this.
I have a rack effects unit I'm using to apply the effects and an outboard compressor also.
Question is, when should i apply the effects? During mix down or before i reach that stage?
All of my mono tracks are full and i need to bounce them to free up tracks to add vocals. But could i
still add effects to the individual tracks before i bounce them?
And is the best way to add effects through the sends?
Sorry for the confusing question, but any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you just record your vocals onto stereo tracks? You can assign one input to both tracks of a stereo track if you want to..........and essentially have a mono track. Are you planning something else for the stereo tracks? Then you wouldn't have to bounce anything. You also wouldn't have to worry about getting the effects right the first time.

Thanks for reply Mickster. I may just do what you said, regarding vocals onto stereo tracks. My main problem is how do i add effects individually to the 12 mono tracks iv already recorded onto?
Thanks.
