Tascam Cassette tapes

What are the brands/names that are good Cassette tapes for recording?
and have really long hours to record on?

I have a tascam 8 track

I'm trying to record my rehearsals so i need really long storage time on the cassette tapes which ones are good for this??

I always liked TDK as a brand; I never cared for Maxell. I don't recall trying much else brandwise.

You don't mention what speed your recorder operates at; I have a 488mkII that runs at a faster rate than normal. As a consequence, a tape that normally runs at 30 minutes probably runs at about 13 minutes; not very conducive to taping full rehearsals, but if you get a good supply and check it from song-to-song it may work for you.

Akai type II is what I used. Lower noise sweeter mids than some of the other tape I've used.

Yea my Tascam tape SPEED runs really fast even if i SLOW DOWN the VARISPEED it still uses up a 60min tape like in 15mins max. recording

I would need to buy a BOX of maxell tapes or TDK

Does anyone make casette tapes that look like reel-to-reel like this: http://www.tascam.com/Products/Porta02mkII.html ? I understand that it would just be a novelty, but I can't find them anywhere.

TEAC did make those "reel" cassettes in the 70's and early 80's,...

as well as OEM'ing them to Radio Shack,... neither of which are produced or sold today. If you really want that type of cassette, check Ebay & be prepared to pay a premium for them!!
