tascam 564 md multitracker?

hey folks,

anyone have any experience with this beast? i'm thinking of buying a used one for informal, remote recordings. i dig the digital outs, 4 xlr's and sweepable mids. my main worry is the older version of atrac, the 564 has version 2 as compared to the most recent being 4.5. so, any input?

I've had a 564 for about 8 months now and I like it. I recently bought Cakewalk Professional 8.0 and I'm having so much trouble with it that I think I'll just stick to the Tascam. (Plus, I would have to drop another $300 bucks for a soundcard with a mic input to use the Cakewalk as my main recorder - so I'm just using it to sequence my midi tracks)
The 564 is easy to use, the manual is user friendly, and the machine is very portable. As far as what version of atrac, I don't even know what that is, so I can't help.
