Have an old Tascam 4 track and after moving I noticed the cassette cover door will not stay down and therefore I cannot record with it, If I hold it down it seems to go for a few seconds and then stop, Nothing appears broken, Hate to throw it out and probably not worth fixing, is there some switch it needs to keep the recording engaged?

Which Portastudio? The only one that appears that the cassette might fit in the door is the Porta 03.
