Hello! I just bought a 244 from ebay. It arrived and would power up perfectly but made a constant sound when on, but the head would also neither engage or actually play any cassettes. I imagined the motor was in tact but the belts needed replacing. When I opened the Tascam up, the belts were complete mush. I finally replaced the belts and tried turning it on, now the 244 makes no noise and nothing seems to move. The only thing I was able to figure out is that I might have misaligned the control mechanism since every time I align it and turn the 244 on, It runs the control mechanism for 2 seconds until it resets. I really don't know what it could be at this point, the motor I believe works even though it makes no sound, since it resets the control mechanism after I try to align it. Any help or suggestions would be a lifesaver. Thanks so much for reading!
