Hello everyone, Ive just recorded my basic tracks on my 414.
I've made mistakes and tried rerecording on track 2 for more
than 5 times. When i listened to the tracks, I noticed a great loss in the signal on track 2. Can someone help me with this? Just how many times can a track be rerecorded? Help!!!

Are you using "L" (or "R") record mode, or Direct (1,2,3, or 4)?

This makes all the difference.

I know how it is to have to re-record tracks multiple times to fix mistakes. But I haven't noticed a big loss in the signal strength. When you re-record, make sure you have the track set up just as though you were doing an overdub, and you might also want to completely erase that track prior to re-recording, if you're doing the whole track, so you don't end up with "artifacts".

It ain't cheap ($35?) but it really pays to get the punch-in punch-out footswitch. Practice on something that you've recorded just for experimental purposes, and soon you'll be able to sneak in there and just fix the parts of the track that are messed up without re-recording the whole track.
