New Tascam DP-008ex Beginner Questions

I just got this neat little mixer / recorder unit and I had a couple questions about it.

1. Is there a way to have a count in when beginning a recording (for example in a 4/4 time song, beat 4 beats or one measure of blank then start recording).

2. (this goes along with the first question) When recording a track and I make a mistake is it possible to have the unit play a full measure before and then come in recording at the spot I would like to punch in?

The user manual seems to indicate that it has a metronome which can be used for the count in as well as normal timing functions. Or......you can just record one track with a manual count in using your voice (one...two...three....etc) or some other sound. Use that same track as your first track. Later you can remove the count in from that track if you want to. It also has an UNDO / REDO feature which will help you for mistakes and if you use the track markers you should be able to restart at any point you want to .
