I use a Tascam US-1800 with cubase 5. The question is this.... How do I monitor what I am playing while I record and still at the same time hear the playback tracks? I do not have studio monitors all I have at the moment is headphones.
 
two ways to go about this with the us1800 you can use the mix knob one the front and blend between the computer and the inputs or you can just monitor throught the daw. make sure that monitoring is turned on in your daw and you should be able to do it im not familiar with cubase but i do have a 1800 and i love it and it works great. latency could be an issue so you may have to mess with settings
