How to Record with a Microphone with Round End ?

Hi ! The microphone has a round end but when I stick it in the "Line In" of the Tascam, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong ?

nb: the Tascam is loaded, is working and I do have Cubase LE4 (that came with it), loaded. I guess, I just don't know where to stick what ?

And what is "The Tascam"? Look for a model number.

I'd say either an input isn't to a channel or the trim isn't up high enough for the mic....or that it is a condensor mic that needs phantom power...
