How can I use outboard gear on 2488MK2

Ok I am ready to Pre-master (we use to call it 'mix down'), on my 2488 Mk2. What I want to do is run the mix through a few outboard processors, Sonic Maximizer, compressor,EQ, etc. and tweak on the final overall mix. In the past I would just patch in between the multi-track and the mix down recorder. How do I do this with the 2488 MK2 ?

There is a Stereo Bus out but no return but you can use the SUB, routing the returns thru inputs a-h and assigning them to SUB set to record. See sub-mixer section page 35 and Bounce Mix page page 58 for more detail. The down side of the 2488 is that your pre-mastered tracks are 16bit, if there is a way to get a 24 bit out I have not found it. I found it was easier for me to do the master as a separate step, had enough to do for the mix.
