Disassembling a Tascam 32

I am trying to service a Tascam 32 recently acquired on eBay. THe machine works very well. I bought a new belt and pinch roller. I've been trying to disassemble the front panel for quite a bit now and am seriously restraining myself from throwing this beauty out of the window. Could someone kindly explain to me A)how to unlock the INPUT/OUTPUT pots, B) I have taken out all panels except the front one. There seems to be something holding it around the headblock zone (apart from the pots mentioned before)
Please help...
Cheers

There is a nut around the speed control shaft. It will come off with a pair of needle nose pliers. You just stick the points of the pliers in the slots that are on the nut.

In addition to that nut (as Herm pointed out), you also need to disconnect the cable which is connected to the front panel controls (this is done from the back).
