I have a tascam mf-po1 4 track and I dont know how to bounce tracks, could someone tell me in laymens terms.

Yo Dog:

I'm not familiar with your four track, but I've had a few 4 and 8 trackers.

As I recall, you usually have to turn the pan knobs one way or another to bounce like tracks 1 and 2 to track 3 or 4.

Isn't this info in your manual? I'm assuming your recorder is cassette tape? So, I'll put down the bouncing procedure as it reads in my old Tascam 8 track cassette recorder and you can evaluate.

1. set all the channels' INPUT assign switches to the center/TAPE POSITION.

Turn the channel's PAN controls all the way to the right/R

3. fPress the ASSIGN 3-4 switch on channels 1-4.

4. Raise the MASTER "3-4" FADER TO 7.

5. Press the MONITOR "GRP3-4 switch, and make sure all other MONITOR SWITCHES {tape cue, GRP1-2 are OFF.

Press the RECORD FUNCTION switch for track 8 [in your case, track 4] The record blinker or arming light should start blinking.

Press PLAY. The tape will start playing.

Use channel faders to make any necessary level adjustments. You may want to repeat this step a few times to get the balance correct.

Hope this helps.
