sample editor/audio editor probs

Hi I am a bit confused as to what I am doing wrong. I have been using cubase studio 5 for a while and know what I need to know to do what I need.
But I have been doing some basic audio recording for a friend over the last few days and on one or two tracks if I double click on the audio track it opens the sample editor but on others it opens the audio editor.
My question is how do I specify or change settings so I can open the clips in the editor I want use. I have been trying to open one with the sample editior but can only get it to open in the audio editor.

Not sure if its the same thing, but I noticed if the audio file is un-edited, clicking will open the audio editor, if I snip or glue on the main screen, clicking will open it in another window, then clicking again goes to audio.
 
Thanks for that . I sort of had the same idea yesterday and did a cut at cursor but still did the same. Maybe I will try doing it again maybe chopping out a bit of silence and doing a cut and glue.
