Assigning MIDI Controller Sliders/Knobs to VST instruments in Cubase LE 4

I know I am using an old version of Cubase (LE 4), but I am trying to link the sliders and knobs on my Oxygen 49 MIDI Controller to the different sliders and knobs on my VST instruments.

Does anyone know how this can be accomplished?

I have a bunch of different VST synthesizers I found on the internet for free. One of them is called Rez 2.0, but I have quite a few other free instruments.

Someone pointed me in the direction of "Generic Remotes" and I was able to assign my sliders and knobs to the synthesizer that way, but I am having a little trouble with the "import" and "export" functions on it. I haven't played around with it a whole lot, but one time it seemed to "reset" on me and all the values that I set went back to their defaults.

So I am still going to try to figure out how to "import" and "export" successfully, if it is possible.

If anyone has any ideas on how to "import" and "export" without the values resetting, let me know.
