Annoying noise

Hi everyone!

(First, my English is not so good, so sorry if I write any mistakes.)

Now, I've just bought Cubase LE. But I have immediately a problem.
If I press the record button, and I play something on my piano, it's all ok.
But when I listen to my recorded track, there is some kind of noise what
irritates me.
It's not all the time, only when I press the piano keys there is that noise.
So it's not continual.

Does anyone know how I can stop this?

Thanks.
J.

What kind of piano? a real one, an outboard hard synth, a softsynth USB controller ?

If it sounds OK when its not going through the computer, its not the keyboard. Are you recording it too loud? When recording digital, the signal should not go above -10db,(peak) not like a tape recorder you can record at 0db (peak). Also what is the keyboard plugged into?

Maybe too loud, but I don't think so.
Hm, that light on the lambda shows most of the time -40. Whats the best way to reduce it?

Nexto the Mic knobs there is a light with "peak" above it, but it's never colored. Should it be?

In the keyboard it's plugged in "R/line out" (not in L/line out) and lambda in "Line in 1".
I thought it was proposed like this in the manual.
