Vegas Audio? phased out for Vegas Video 3?

It seems SF has given up on vegas audio (It is now just vegas video 3). I wrote to Sonic Foundry wondering if they would combine hard disk recording with acid looping for a new Vegas or Acid and got this reply:

Thanks for writing. At this time there are no plans to combine the Vegas
and Acid product lines. Feel free to visit our product suggestion page
http://www.sonicfoundry.com/support...tsuggestion.asp to provide our
developers with your input.

If you have any further questions feel free to reply to this email, or
contact any of our customer service representatives weekdays from 9am to 5pm

I think I saw somewhere that Sonic foundry were going through big changes in their software staffing and new stuff will come out soon, same story with CD architect I understand.

cheers

You should be able to find cheap copies of the older titles. I went with Vegas Video 3.0 and haven't been unhappy with it.

read the SF forums, this is often a topic. Theres no need for vegas audio3 as vegas video 3 has all the audio features as well...they have blundered in marketing again and again, but thats the way it is.

be sure to write sf and let them know that real tape style autoinput is a MUST after 4 revisions :)
