Programming Drums

Alright,

I need to know how to program a drum machine. Notably, all of them. Specifically, the Boss DR-770.

One - basic beat
Two - changeup within basic beat
Three changeup to get to chorus
Four chorus >then fill>which leads back to basic beat
Vamp
Change up within vamp
Drum rolling and pausing within vamp

If there are videos out there let me know. If there are tutorial CD's out there let me know. If there is a non-technical or user friendly book out there let me know!

if you can try Sonic foundry Acid. very cheap, and it's alot easier to control looping software for what you want to do then with a drum machine. you can layer beats, etc, and takes less time/energy and sounds better.

if you want to hear an example.. i have my songs on mp3.com. very simple, i recorded the whole album in less than a week with a simple 4 track.

I think the best thing you can do is asking for help on drummers´bbs. Sure they can recommend you some books.

Or (the hardest thing), if you can read scores, buy any book of drumlines, and pay attention to every event on it. You´ll learn a lot of useful patterns, and to create your own ones.
