ALL track levels in the red zone, but no sound

Hi folks
i had this happen one time before, but ive no idea how i got past it.
Id noticed a tiny level of high pitched feedback whilst working on a song, which gradually got louder and louder.eventually causing every single track to peak, but give no sound.

i tried shutting down and reopening the session
i tried restarting the Mac
i tried removing non essential rack
i tried removing plug ins, though i was only using 3 or 4
i even tried different sessions,but all tracks were in the red, with no output

i had planned a very rare full days recording tomorrow while the missus is out
but that will be screwed if i cant figure this out
im stuck;-(

please help
 
Sorry, I don't really have any advice besides:

Have you purchased your interface within the past 90 days? Call Digidesign support. They're VERY helpful.

ive no idea even how to bus anything;-)

and rather predictably,when i put it on today it was ok again
so im none the wiser:rolleyes:
 
Does this only occur on one session, or is it every session?

If the latter, is there any one thing that you're doing the same on those sessions?

If it happens only on one session, you probably have a routing problem or a corrupt session file. I would recommend rerouting everything. If that fails, consider starting a new session and using "Import session data".

Had the same exact problem and it ended up being an Ilock problem. One of my plugins didn't work and the Ilock made it even worst (sorry, can't explain it better..Im not a tech head). try getting a new ilock, or removing all ur plugins and putting them back in the plugin folder one by one until u hit the problem.
