i managed to finally acquire a 4track recorder to play on at a state auction-the fostex 250. i also got a few grand worth of other devices, but that's another story/gloat 
in any case-are any of you familiar with this unit enough to give an opinion on it? do the preamps sound terrible? also, is there a specific cassette type that works best with these, or is the 60-minute cr-02 dragon advised prudent? thanks beforehand for any help.
